Helper Guidelines
Helper Guidelines
An Admin heads each network, sometimes several at the same time. So there is
a need for helpers. To help give helpers an idea of what their job entails,
these few guidelines have been drawn up:
Your main jobs with BotService are:
- To watch, listen, and learn
- To help users, when asked to do so by a BotService staff member
- To help with organizational matters with BotService, when asked
- Co-operate with all BotService staff, by doing what they ask of you. This
applies not only to tasks related to bots, but also with behavior in channels.
- You monitor the relay on the network you are assigned, unless asked to
move to a different network
Some Rules/Guidelines to follow:
- When you see a BotService staff member helping a user, do not interrupt or
interject. If you think the staff member is doing something wrong or whatever,
private message him/her.
- Do not enter a user's channel to help or watch with a bot unless
a BotService member asks you to, or no BotService member is on-line on ANY of
our nets
- NEVER will an active member/helper sit, idle, chat in: Sex channels,
Warez, non-network supported channels while helping in ANY BotService.Org help
channel/user channel
- No Helper will message or notice any BotService.Org member, unless
permission is obtained to message. This isn't because we're being difficult,
but because at any given moment, any member may be off
helping/installing/investigating, and cannot be interrupted. You may, however,
message the Training Coordinator or their Assistant at any time if its urgent
- All helpers will be at least 18 years of age or older
- All helpers must be a current user of the network they wish to help on
- All helpers will be trained on our training network /server
irc.bservice.org before they will be allowed to help users in our help
channels
- No helper will be allowed in any BotService.Org relay channels with the
exception of #BotHouse on the training network.
- All helpers, once deemed trained, will be under the direct supervisionof
the Assistant Training Coordinator
- Helpers will follow the "Helper Guidelines" and agree to them before
having the ability to access any bot within BotService.Org's control.
